To ensure high availability, integrity, and performance of Rev.io's production database systems.

Position Description

Rev.io is seeking a talented and experienced database expert to join our expanding our Infrastructure Team! In this role, you will participate in the mission-critical operations of our SaaS recurring revenue, payments, and customer management solutions.

As a new position for Rev.io, the Director of Database Administration will sit on the Operational Leadership Team, and will work closely with the Chief Technology Officer, Principal Solutions Architect, and other technical leaders.

Responsibilities:

  • Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.
  • Monitor, test, and tune backup processes and database maintenance processes.
  • Hire an outsourcing team for 24x7 coverage.
  • Apply data modeling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts to meet integrations and performance expectations.
  • Solve performance/scalability challenges as needed, maintain a patch schedule, and perform scheduled maintenance after hours when necessary.
  • Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Information Technology, or comparable work experience.
  • 8+ years of experience with database development and/or administration, preferably with 3+ years in a lead role.
  • In-depth understanding of stored procedures, query plans, indexing, and clustered index views.
  • Experience installing databases, troubleshooting, and management procedures in development and production environments.
  • Familiarity with backup/recovery software, system profiling, and performance analysis.
  • T-SQL experience and programming in the SQL Server, scripting, and database design.
  • Not required but any of the following would be valuable:  Hyper-V, PowerShell, Redis, Apache Spark, and/or Power BI
  • Nice to have:  Microsoft MVP status.
