Cloud Software Architect

Lead and oversee the technical foundation of the Platform by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing technical standards and best practices.


  • Design and Architect solutions with a modern cloud based approach, while balancing business requirements, security and performance
  • Establish, develop, maintain, and enhance coding standards and best practices including documentation, new hire training, and regular training as these evolve.
  • Inspect work across multiple development teams to ensure coding standards and best practices are followed – including providing periodic peer reviews to each member of the team.
  • Develop flow chart diagrams, mockups, proofs-of-concept, whiteboard sessions, etc to communicate designs & architectures to both technical & business users.
  • Make design decisions with less-than-perfect and/or less-than-complete information at times based on your gut instincts through experience, while looking for opportunities to improve the processes leading to the situation upstream and downstream.
  • Experiment with and make architecture decisions for front-end & back-end designs.  Document the designs for others to implement, and inspect the progress periodically to ensure proper direction.
  • Mentoring senior-level engineers and architects to assist with their personal development.
  • Operating as a high-level representative for strategic prospects during the sales process as well as clients in relationship-critical situations.
  • Work to constantly increase the knowledge of the development teams on our existing platform by modeling best practices and approaches to both complex support needs as well as product development needs.
  • Work hand-in-hand with the product team to assist with scoping, designing, planning, and executing our product development goals.
  • Make recommendations to clients and the product team for alternative solutions to desired product functionality with better long-term and short-term benefits.


  • 10+ years of experience with software engineering and full software development lifecycle
  • 2+ years of experience designing Azure based solutions
  • Strong communication skills with an ability to translate business requirements to technical designs and technical solutions to business processes. 
  • Comfortable in front of prospects, clients, software engineers, executives, etc
  • Ability to understand our clients’ needs and processes
  • Familiarity and belief in agile processes & methodologies
  • Bias towards actions and decision-making – understanding no decision is often worse than the wrong decision.
  • Broad and deep technical understanding of complex architecture patterns & designs
  • Preference towards high quality, maintainable, clean, and consistent solutions
  • Passion for innovation and willingness to explore multiple possible solutions
  • Ability to negotiate or mediate between conflicting priorities to mutually come to a final solution that balances both technical debt and preference with client & product requests.
