Sales Engineer

The purpose of the Sales Engineer at Rev.io is to provide dedicated technical coverage for the sales team to drive upmarket sales, improve requirements gather and reduce account executives’ involvement in client onboarding.  Lead effective cross-functional relationships between all other departments within Rev.io and upholding the integrity of Rev.io’s Mission & Values. 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Serve as a subject matter expert by articulating the value and benefits that differentiate the platform
  • Participate in detailed discovery sessions to gather requirements around business processes and user stories that impact commerce and billing flows
  • Present and advise on established billing and digital transformation best practices
  • Deliver custom product demonstrations that focus on the customers key business drivers
  • Shape a solution definition that maps customer requirements and user stories to platform capabilities
  • Own all technical aspects of the sales process including customer relationships
  • Cross-functionally coordinate internal resources needed to close the technical sale
  • Collaborate with Onboarding team on solution design and delivery
  • Funnel prospect needs as feedback to the Product team to help drive roadmap

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree required

Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements:

  • 4+ years experience as a Sales Engineer for an enterprise solution in a complex sales cycle
  • Strong understanding of subscription billing and digital commerce
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to engage across technical stakeholders within prospective clients
  • Ability to provide a compelling product demonstration that links business goals to the benefits of Rev.io’s Platform
  • Ability to navigate, master, and evangelize a highly complex and evolving software platform from an executive to technical level
  • An ability to document and accurately communicate specific customer requirements to internal stakeholders
  • An ability to deliver documentation that completely and accurately defines the solution
  • Strong understanding of SaaS and cloud-based technologies
  • Familiarity with CPQ, CRM, ERP and OSS/BSS systems
  • An understanding of REST APIs, microservices and SSO protocols
