Position:  Database Administrator - Platform Team

We are seeking to hire a talented and experienced database administrator to join our expanding our Platform Team.  In this role you will participate in the mission-critical operations of our SaaS recurring revenue & customer management solutions. This is a small but growing team and a new position for our company.

Responsibilities

  • Manage databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.
  • Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security
  • Help optimize and systemize data migration processes as a part of new client onboarding
  • Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
  • Monitor, test, and tune backup processes
  • Monitor, test, and tune database maintenance processes
  • Apply data modeling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectations
  • Manage & optimize high volume data processes
  • Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
  • Maintain & execute patch/update schedule for database software
  • Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
  • Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance activities after hours when necessary
  • Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members.

Knowledge and Skills

  • A bachelor degree in Computer Science, Business, or Information Technology.
  • 8+ years database administration experience preferably with 3+ as in a lead role or other with primary responsibility
  • In-depth understanding of stored procedures, query plans, indexing, and clustered indexed views
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and multi-task
  • Experience of problem solving, database installation and management procedures in development and production environments.
  • Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies
  • Familiarity with database system profiling and performance analysis
  • T-SQL experience and programming in SQL Server, scripting and database design. 
  • Management of database systems.
  • Not required but any of the following would be valuable:  Hyper-V, AlwaysOn, Powershell, PRTG, Postgresql, Redis
